Date of Passing: Jan 01, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN WHITE (nee FORSYTH) It is with a deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen on January 1, 2006. Helen is survived by her son Robert; daughter Lynda (Greg); grandchildren, Shawn (Kim), Michael (Elaine), Corey (Natasha); and great-grandchildren, Jamie, Laurissa, Jesse, Kennedy and Noah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Helen and John Forsyth; her sister Isabel; brothers, Jim and Bill; and her husband Robert. Helen was born in Winnipeg, May 3, 1920. Blessed with a wonderful memory, she told many stories of her years growing up in Winnipeg, stories of her years working at Eatons, and stories about the Moonlight train to Grand Beach and long unforgettable summers spent there at the family cottage. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. To her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their cousins and friends, she was Nan. She had a terrific sense of humour and was a great sport putting up with her son-in-law's teasing. In past years she was a regular volunteer at Kelvin Community Club and a longtime member of the Elmwood Curling Club and the I.O.D.E. Her sewing club was also a favourite. Helen was such an integral part of our lives that it seems impossible that she is no longer here to tell another story or help cook family dinners or to say, You better watch out or I'll box your ears! She will however, always remain in our hearts and memories. Mom, Nan we miss you terribly. Cremation has taken place. A family gravesite service will be held in the spring. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Helen's memory to the charity of their choice.
