She was predeceased by her pioneer parents, Andruch and Mayna Drewniak of Tolstoi, MB; her husband John (1991); her only daughter Jean (Genia) (2005); sisters, Soffie, Annie, Katherine; brothers, Walter and Martin. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Nellie Gresko and son-in-law Michael Yarmie; brother-in-law Paul Makoweski and his wife Joyce of Tolstoi and a number of nieces and nephews. Teanie was a loyal wife, a loving mother and a wonderful mother-in-law. She lived her life with grace, love, honesty and hope. She enjoyed fun, humour and a hearty, robust laugh with visitors. Although there were many obstacles and difficult situations in her lifetime, she overcame them honourably. She persevered and made the best of what was available. Teanie had a great love for family and the simple pleasures of life... gardening, preserving vegetables and always sharing these with family, friends and neighbours. To Mom... family and tradition was SO important. And what a cook! Mom's cooking made their home the focal point, for many years, to celebrate holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. Her warm heart, kindness, generosity and unselfishness were always invitations for getting together. She will be remembered and missed by all who had the blessing of being a part of her life. Special thanks are extended to the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate and the wonderful staff on St. Paul's ward of the Holy Family Nursing Home for their tender care, their compassion, their prayers, patience and understanding during her residency. A thank you is extended to Dr. T. Babick for his concerns, advice and beside visits. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Tolstoi, MB with visitation being held one half hour prior to the service with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Porathur as celebrant. Marilyn Hall will be the organist. Pallbearers will be Paul Makoweski, Michael Zahara, Dennis Perozuk, Peter Makoweski, Richard Drewniak and Anthony Drewniak. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither The golden sun may set. But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the ones that won't forget.
