LILY SCHROMEDA Peacefully on January 4, 2006, Lily passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital. She resided her entire 71 years in Selkirk. She leaves to mourn one brother Peter (Marilynn) Skromeda; sister Elizabeth Wolanski (Bob); nieces, Kim and Debbie; nephew Warren (Veronica); and five grandnieces, Brianna, Melissa, Hillary, Kirstyn and Julia; two aunts, Mrs. Mary Rydz (Toronto) and Mrs. Mary Mallach (Kingston). Lily was predeceased by her mother Anne in 1972; and father Mike in 2000. During her younger years, she loved to walk and spend time with friends at the coffee shop, talking. Some of her interests were tending to her many flower plants. Her generosity for sharing whatever she had with other people was always noticed. Special holidays like Christmas and Easter were enjoyed with family and relatives. In 1990 Lily developed breast cancer but that did not deter her from still enjoying what life had to offer. We were able to have her for another 14 years before the cancer returned. The last year was difficult but she never complained. We will miss her cheerful, friendly face. The family is grateful for all the care Lily received at the hospital, and support from relatives, prayers from Father Chorney and Father Soo. Pallbearers are Peter, Warren, Bill, David, Randy Skromeda and Alex Woloshyn. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Rossdale, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
