Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA HUTA Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on January 4, 2006, Lena passed away at the Donwood Manor at the age of 77 years. Lena is survived by her daughter Wilma (Dan); three grandchildren, Gail (Keith), Gaeten and Chelsea; sister Anne Snitynski; brother John (Victoria) Snihor; sister Sylvia Snihor; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Nick in June 1979 and parents, Wasyl and Mary. Lena was born in Sturgis, SK on May 23, 1928. At a young age, the family moved to Russell, MB where Lena met Nick. They moved to Winnipeg in 1958 and were longtime residents of East Kildonan. Lena was well known for her homemade bread, cinnamon buns baked on Tuesday mornings. She was a longtime member of St. Ivan Suchavsky Church. She helped with the ladies groups of the church and was an avid bingo supporter. Special thanks to Willy (Bill) Boryskavich and his family for their love and support given to Lena over her lifetime. Also thanks to the staff at Donwood Manor, especially to the Petunias, Pat Krause and Lois Neufeld for their friendship and care. Prayers will be said on Monday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main St. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lena's memory to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

I was ❤️Lena’s Nurse on 2N . Always loved calling her my petunia and getting a big smile from her . Always loved caring for her and my years at Donwood Manor .
