LORI NADINE MAGALAS October 27, 1973 - January 3, 2006 Our family is deeply saddened with the passing of our beloved Lori at her home, St. Amant Centre, peacefully with her family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her mom and dad Barbara and Bob; sisters, Shannon and Brenda; brother-in-law Frank; nieces, Madison and Sheridan; grandmas, Pauline Nichols and Ida Magalas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and caregivers. Lori was born with many challenges and taught us a new appreciation of life by opening our eyes to the world of the physically and mentally challenged. Lori lived at home until the age of four and then became a resident of St. Amant where sister Irene Rioux opened her arms and heart to Lori on 3 East. Through the years, Lori's caregivers and developmental staff made us feel Lori was at home and were fundamental in her progress. We deeply thank all of you - Myra, Kay, Michelle, Jennifer, Jody, Paula, Pam, Laya, April, Shelley, Kelly, and wonderful sisters, Rita DesRosiers and Allard, and so many more too numerous to mention. Thank you also to the doctors and nurses at Victoria Hospital for their efforts, as well as a special thank you to Ursula for assisting with the service details. Lori loved music and was an enthusiastic participant in her day program activities. Although she could not speak, she could make us understand her pleasures and pain. Lori will be in our hearts forever and we find peace in knowing Grandpa Nichols has his Dolly walking and talking with him in his garden. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of St. Amant Centre, 400 River Road, with Reverend Peter Cain officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lori may be made to St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Wpg. MB R2M 3Z9. I am the person who is disabled. I am your teacher. If you allow me, I will teach you what is really important in life. I will give you and teach you unconditional love. I gift you with my innocent trust, my dependency upon you. I teach you about how precious this life is and about not taking things for granted. I teach you about forgetting your own needs and desires and dreams. I teach you giving. Most of all I teach you hope and faith. I am the person who is disabled. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca.
