Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD KAMKE It is with tremendous sadness that the family announces the passing of Richard Kamke on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 47. He is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Alice; and children, Amber-Lee and Jordan; his father Ben; and sisters, Susan Hryb (Steve), Connie Brooks, Judy Toposzkiewicz (Richard), Debra Stelzer (Dave), Lorraine Kamke (Eric Anderson); mother-in-law Barbara Sokolowski; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Cathy Medal (Bob), John Sokolowski (Brenda), Pat Switzer (Rodney), Raymond Sokolowski (Denise); as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention by name. He was predeceased by his mother Helen (1995); maternal grandparents, Alex and Ann Pruden (1988) and paternal grandparents, Emmanuel Kamke (1962) and Emma Kamke (1985); father-in-law John Sokolowski (2003); and brother-in-law Michael Sokolowski (1991). Richard was born in Winnipeg on January 2, 1959 and grew up on the family farm in Libau, MB. After his high school graduation in 1976, he found employment within the rebar fabricating industry in Winnipeg where he worked until illness prevented him from continuing his career. Richard loved spending time with his family, coaching hockey, soccer and baseball particularly for his son's teams, mentoring young players, taking his daughter to dance classes and recitals, playing his favourite music really loud, reading (particularly books on war history), playing paintball and slo-pitch, and watching sports on television. His constant thirst for knowledge was endless and his everlasting sense of humour will be greatly missed by all. Richard was one of the most unique and special people to ever walk the face of this earth and will be forever remembered as such. A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Monday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, just south of Selkirk, MB with Pastor Dave Saude officiating. Private family internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. A special thank you goes to Barbara, his homecare nurse, the staff of CancerCare Manitoba and the staff of Riverview Health Centre on behalf of Richard's family and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 701 Regent Ave. W. 224-1525
