HELEN GENEVIEVE COULTER (nee WILLIAMSON) Peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2006, Helen passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Helen was born in Brandon, MB on April 2, 1920. Her family relocated to Winnipeg when she was an infant. She resided there for the majority of her life. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Linda (Richard) Sharp and Trudy (Gord) Doerksen; grandchildren, Jenny (Wally) Slomiany, Amy Doerksen, Grant (Misha) Sharp, Patrick Doerksen, Adam Sharp and Katie Doerksen and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jeremy Slomiany. Helen was predeceased by her husband Dave, son Jim, grandson Jason Doerksen, brother Alvin and sister Jessie. Always a youthful person, Helen loved being at the heart of any social gathering. People gravitated to Helen's personality. She had so many friends who appreciated her charisma and was known for being an entertaining storyteller. Helen treasured the moments she shared with her family. Never one to back down from a challenge, she was often spotted playing volleyball with her grandchildren or learning new dance moves on the dock at the lake! Devoted to the community, Helen was an active volunteer. She was also a very spiritual person and it gives us great comfort knowing God has gently called her home. When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in the gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low, Remember how I loved you all, Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we must all make And I must go alone, It's part of the master's plan, A step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends you know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds Miss me - But let me go. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10 at Bethesda Church, Grant and Cambridge. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway 783 - 7211
