DARLENE MUSWAGON (nee OIGG) June 6, 1957 - January 5, 2006 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister and auntie, Darlene Muswagon. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Jim Muswagon of 18 years; children, Nathan, Precious and Jimmy Jr.; nephew Kenneth Oigg; step-children, Carol, Misty and Jimmy Richard Jr.; sisters, Sylvia (Johnny Shorting) of Little Saskatchewan, Beverly (Henry Traverse), Irma, Laverne (Clarence Traverse); brother Lindsay (Verna Oigg) of Jackhead; uncles, Roddy, Arthur, Stanford (Brenda) and Morris Oigg of Matheson Island, Irvine, Garf (Wilma) Sinclair; aunties, Elizabeth, Maryanne Sinclair and Ida (Ken Ellison); sisters-in-law, Rita Oigg, Jeannie (Jake) and Francis McKay; mother-in-law Caroline Muswagon; also aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. Darlene was predeceased by her parents, Lena and Robert Oigg Sr.; two brothers, Robert Jr. and Elvis; grandparents, William and Maryanne Sinclair, Percy and Flora Oigg; uncles, Victor and Lawrence Oigg, Norman and Lawrence (Tapper) Sinclair; aunties, Marion, Barbara and Mabel; nephews, Justin, Joseph, Dion and Leon and by her niece Lena. Dee had a unique way of upsetting her family and friends and then making them laugh as if nothing happened. It's the little things she said and did that will always be forever cherished in the years to follow, as we sit around the table to talk, reminisce and laugh. Her nephews and nieces gave her the nickname Crabby Dee, which she just laughed to and the name stuck. She always wanted to know all the gossip. Crabby Dee worked for the band for a number of years, serving as band councillor and a teacher. Later on she moved to Winnipeg, until the spring of 1997 when Dee was diagnosed with diabetes. Jim and Dee moved their family back to Jackhead to raise their children and also to be near her family. A service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Ashern, MB. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Lawrence Sinclair Memorial School, Jackhead, MB, with Pastor Lawrence Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Percy E. Moore Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital, also to Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation Chief Council, and to all the friends that came in our time of need.
