ARMANDO DA SILVA Peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at River East Personal Care Home, Armando, beloved husband of Irvalina passed away at the age of 80 years. Armando is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Irvalina; daughter Clara; grandchildren Bradley and Justin; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings. Armando was born on November 22, 1925 in Sao Miguel, Azores and came to Winnipeg in 1965. He worked up north for CN Railways, and then worked in construction, finally retiring from Elmcrest Furniture. Armando was proud of his Portuguese heritage and loved to spend time in his yard and with his family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the River East P.C.H. for their care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, January 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John 23rd Roman Catholic Church. 3390 Portage Avenue with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H.,V.F. as celebrant. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
