DAVID KEYNES David Keynes (70) died suddenly January 4, 2006. Survived by his wife Rhoda; daughters, Renana Keynes (John Levinson), Mikaela Levine (Jason); granddaughters, Ayla, Eliana; sister, Sally Shulman; Aunts Irma Nepon, Marcia Weiss, Syma Katz and Frieda Katz. David, a Pharmacist, was two years shy of achieving his goal of 50 years of service. He began his career as a hospital pharmacist at the Winnipeg General Hospital and then moved into community pharmacy with the purchase of Grant Pharmacy. His practice continued with Metro Drugs and then Shoppers Drugmart where he worked as a nursing home consultant in the Apothecary Service. David's career ended full circle when he returned to hospital pharmacy in the new Shoppers store located in the St. Boniface Hospital. David was a Pharmacist's Pharmacist - whose service went far beyond filling prescriptions, dispensing informed counsel, kindness and good humour. He will always be remembered by everyone he touched, and whose pain he eased. He brought love, joy, enthusiasm, generosity and warmth to relationships with family, friends, colleagues, patients and their families. Everyone he met was treated with respect and compassion. David was devoted to his family; he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will always burn brightly. Shiva is observed until January 11 between 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at 936 Queenston Bay. The David Keynes Memorial Bursary has been established in the Faculty of Pharmacy. These funds will be dedicated to the Pharm. D Program which he strongly endorsed. Donations can be made through the University of Manitoba. (204) 474-9195.
