ANNE PARTIAK On Wednesday, January 4, 2006, Anne Partiak of Winnipeg passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 81 years. Left to mourn Anne's passing are her sisters, Ellen Mansell of Seal Beach, CA, Julie Russell of Calgary, AB, Lorraine Onofreychuk of Yorkton, SK and Pauline Combs of Maple Ridge, BC; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a number of special longtime friends from near and far. Anne was predeceased by her mother Maria and father John; brothers, Steve, Nick, Alex, Mike, Peter and Tommy; and sisters, Victoria, Kay and Mary. On December 26, 1924, Anne was born on the family homestead at Stornaway, SK. In her early 20s, Anne moved to Winnipeg, MB. She was employed in the dry cleaning industry and became quite an accomplished seamstress by the time of her retirement. Anne's love of travel took her to the Bahamas, Hawaii and frequent trips to the United States. In the summer, she would drive out (with her budgie Sexy accompanying her) to vacation with family and friends. She also had a green thumb, as her apartment was always thriving with lush plants. An excellent cook, she also enjoyed canning preserves. In her youth, Anne enjoyed riding horses and being around animals. She was especially fond of dogs and birds. Having always enjoyed watching sports, Anne became a devoted fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and later the Toronto Blue Jays. Not one to slow down after her retirement, Anne joined the Royal Canadian Legion No. 4 Line Dancing Club to keep active socially and physically. She also danced at the Army and Navy No.1 Club. Anne also learned to play the guitar at this time. In compliance with Anne's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Rather, Anne's wish is for everyone to celebrate and carry on her passion of living life to the fullest. A private interment will take place at a later date. Anne's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
