MARIE ALICE KIEDYK March 22, 1911 - January 5, 2006 Marie Kiedyk, aged 94, of Cranbrook, BC, formerly of Kingston ON passed away peacefully at the Steepleview Care Home on the evening of January 5, 2006 with her family at her side. Predeceased by her parents, John and Katherine (Pawlik) Stechyshyn and brothers, Mike (Peggy) and Johnny (Greta). Beloved mother of the late Ronald (Danielle) Kiedyk, formerly of Fernie, BC. Survived and sadly missed by her grandson Michael (Tracy) Kiedyk and great-grandsons, Brandon and Shawn all of Cranbrook, BC. Marie was a successful businesswoman that owned and operated several hotels and restaurants with her greatest accomplishment being ownership of the Frontenac Hotel in Kingston, ON. After living most of her life in Kingston, she relocated to Cranbrook several years ago to be closer to her grandson and his family. Marie's great-grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes and she cherished the time she had with them. Among other special moments, her great-grandsons will always remember their Baba for the dough boy soup she made on countless occasions especially for them. Marie was a kind person that felt great pleasure in helping her family and friends. Her kind gestures, endless stories of her life, family dinners, independence and determination will be treasured in our memory, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. Marie was cremated and a special family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life and place her ashes next to her son. A special thank you to the staff at Cedar Ridge Manor and the Steepleview Care Home in Cranbrook, BC for the care, friendship and kindness you gave to our grandmother.
