Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY KOWPAK August 12, 1911 - January 9, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On Monday, January 9, 2006, Mary peacefully passed away, at the age of 94, with family at her side at Tuxedo Villa. Mary was born in Winnipeg and spent her childhood on the family farm in Malonton, MB. The second oldest of five, she was the last surviving sibling of her family. Mary was predeceased by John, her husband of 59 years, on January 18, 2000 as well as her son-in-law Edward Bedard. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Phyllis Bedard, Kathleen (Robert) Curtis of Vancouver; son Mel; grandchildren, Karen (Roger) Freddi and Colleen (Devlin) Wing of Vancouver, James (Angela) Bedard of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Parise Freddi and Brienne Wing; as well as members of the extended Lake (Lijko), Lobash and Kowpak families. Prayers will be said on Friday, January 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Station One, Tuxedo Villa, for the excellent and loving care that Mary received during her four year stay, as well as their support and kindness, especially during the last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mary to Grace Hospital Cancer Care, in care of Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Dear Mom, You led a quiet and private life that was centred around your family. You never complained about anything and your strength was amazing right till the end. Your kindness, generosity, and warm smile will be dearly missed. We have been so blessed to have known you, loved you and been loved by you. Now you can rest in peace and be with Dad once again.
