BERYL SPENCE (nee RICHARDSON) Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Beryl passed away at the Golden West Centennial Lodge at the age of 89 years. Remaining to forever cherish Beryl's memory are her two children, Catherine Fritsch (William) and Murray Spence (Susan) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Sydney in 1991, after 45 years of marriage. Beryl was born in Boissevain, MB and moved to Winnipeg in her teens. After the war, she married and spent the subsequent years as a devoted wife, loving mother and caring friend. Beryl was a generous person who liked giving and helping others. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was happiest entertaining, visiting or chatting with family, friends and neighbours, all of whom gave Beryl and Syd much laughter and happiness at those special social gatherings. Beryl will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14 in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's All Faiths and Beliefs Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharpe Boulevard. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. Our family would like to extend special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their exceptional care and kindness during Beryl's stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beryl's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8.
