STEVE SABADA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather on Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Remaining to cherish Steve's memory are his daughters, Diane (Dale) McGee and Stephanie (Barry) Anderson; grandchildren, Desirae (John) Duncan, Dustin McGee and Bryce Anderson. He will be sadly missed by his brother Harry (Rita) Sabada; brother-in-law William Babiuk; and sister-in-law Florence Paradis; and numerous relatives, close friends and acquaintances. Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife Kay; parents Jacob and Anne Sabada; brother Pete; and sister Mary; and great-nephew Shane. He was born July 21, 1915, in Stead, MB, and married Kay (nee Chrusch) July 19, 1952. They resided in Winnipeg during the first years of their marriage, moved to Brokenhead, MB, in 1959 to farm and raise the family. Retired from farming in 1970, moved to Selkirk where they both continued to work at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre until retirement. They were able to celebrate 40 years of marriage prior to mom's passing on December 18, 1992. Steve was a very hard working man of few words, very honest and direct, always willing to listen. His greatest joy was his family, spending time with the grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Red River Place Personal Care Home and to the doctors and support staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Stead, with Father Myron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow in the church yard cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Orthodox Church, Cemetery Fund, Stead, MB R0E 1Z0.
