Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZUZANNA LISKA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Baba, Zuzanna Liska, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Zuzanna was predeceased by her husband John Liska Sr. in 1969, daughter Ann Liska in 1998 and by her daughter-in-law Helen Liska in 1999. She is lovingly survived by her son John Liska and by her grandchildren, Frank Liska, Shannon Liska (David) and Jaimie Kehler (Daniel). Also survived by relatives, Anna and Liz Karman, Lawrence and Anne Anderson. Zuzanna was born in Polichno, Slovakia on May 7, 1914. She came to Canada, with her husband, in 1930 and worked on a farm. Eventually, Zuzanna and John started their own farm in Tilley, AB. In 1938 they moved to St. Germain, MB, eventually making their way to Dugald, MB. After retiring from a life of hard work farming, she moved to Transcona where she lived independently and easily developed lifelong friendships with neighbours, Jennifer, Lawrence and John. More recently she resided in the care of Park Manor Personal Care Home. Zuzanna delighted in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her garden and she was a wonderful cook. Her home made strudel was greatly appreciated. She was fortunate to have had a sound mind and body up until the very end. She will be deeply missed. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East and Navin Road, with viewing one half hour prior to service time. Rev. Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs Zuzanna Lisk. Her husband and Annie. I used to be a friend of John Liska when I was at the Kyle farm next door to the Liska farm. I never met Mrs Liska or her husband formally but I knew John and red haired Annie. I recall John, Walter Kork and I used to chum and go to roller skating events, bowling and sometimes we played canasta card games long hours into the wintery night (1960). I recall John bought a farm in Eastern Manitoba near Beausejour with his savings from working the DEW line as a dozer operator. Sometimes I would visit with Albert Mays and Isabel Mays on the next farm east of the Kyle farm. Those were days that were very memorable for me. - Posted by: Ed Wood (Friend ) on: Sep 20, 2012
