MARGARET DONELLA KELLAS 1914 - 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Donella Kellas, our sister, aunt and dear friend, at the St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Margaret is survived by her brother Douglas; nine nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews, three great-great-nieces and nephews and first cousins Margaret, Jean and Archie. She was predeceased by her parents, Williamina and James, her brother Frank and sisters in law, Vi and Joan Kellas. Born on December 15, 1914, Margaret was raised in Winnipeg and attended Earl Grey and Kelvin High Schools. Upon graduation, her working career was devoted to Drs. McIntyre and Diehl. During her career, Margaret became President of the Manitoba Society of Medical Assistants. Margaret was a long-time member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church. She was the 1st woman member of the Session of her church. She was active and supportive in numerous church activities, including Sunday School, President of the United Church Women's Unit, Circle 6-13 and Trustee. She also served on the University of Winnipeg Women's Auxiliary. Margaret was a loving person with a positive attitude who took great pride and interest in her family's activities. She was an avid gardener, golfer and lawn bowler. She spent many summers holidaying at Clear Lake and at friends' and family's cottages. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We will cherish her memory always. The family wish to thank the staff at Thorvaldson Care Centre for their loving care given to Margaret during these past few months. A special thank you also to Dr. Evans, Dr. Sharkey and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crescent Fort Rouge United Church or to a charity of one's choice. Memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home at 669 Broadway Ave. on Monday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Thomson in the Park at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS WITH LOVE THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway 783-7211
