HELEN (IRENE) MCNAUGHT On Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Helen Irene (McKenzie) slipped away at The Grace Hospice surrounded by the love of God, her guardian angels and her family to her eternal rest. Remaining to forever cherish Irene's memory are her children who will miss her presence in their lives; Barbara Moroz (Donald) and Russell, special companion girl Cassie whom she never got to know; brother James; sister Ethel; nephew Ken and Carl and Kathie Vallance. She was predeceased by her husband Tom; parents, John and Helen; brother Kenneth; companions Payuk and her best girl Kristi. Irene was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Morse Place and East Kildonan. She served her country during the Second World War as a WREN. Irene met and married Thomas Kerr after the war. She became a St. James woman as she and Tom spent their married life in the home in which Tom was born. On Tuesday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. Irene's funeral service will be held in the St. James United Church, 234 Parkview St., with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Thank you to the volunteers from the No One Dies Alone Program, the volunteers at the Hospice and the superb nursing staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene's memory to The Grace Hospice.
