Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBLANCHE LENA SUTHERLAND (nee MURPHY) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 10, 2006 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by husband Ian, sister Maxine, sister-in-law Jessie and parents, Clifford and Lena. She will be lovingly remembered by son Clifford and wife Peggy, granddaughter Tammy and husband Dave Dyck, great-grandson Addison and siblings, Bud, Marcella (Harvey), Arzella (Fred) and Calvin (Florence). Blanche was born on July 28, 1924 in Swan River, MB. She moved to Peterboro, ON as a young woman, worked at the General Electric plant and, following marriage to Ian, became a full-time homemaker. She cherished her family and lovingly raised her son, cared for ailing parents, mom-in-law and husband and nurtured her granddaughter. She was delighted by the birth of her first great-grandson in November 2005. Blanche was thankful for every new day lived in good health, with independence and dignity in her own apartment. She will be remembered for her great sense of fun, her love of good music and sweets, her lively brown eyes and most of all for her deep and sustaining faith in Jesus. She was a life long member of the Pentecostal church and was connected to Calvary Temple since the family moved to Winnipeg in 1962. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 16 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., with Rev. H. H. Barber officiating. Viewing at 1:00 p.m., prior to service.
