Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAY SUDERMAN (nee KLASSEN) Kay Suderman passed away peacefully while held safe in the arms of her husband Dave and eldest son Grant on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Riverview Hospital. Mom was predeceased by her father Abram, sister Irene, father-in-law Jacob Suderman, mother-in-law Margaret Suderman, sister-in-law Gladys Suderman, brothers-in-law, Alvin Klippenstein, Alvin Friesen, Henry Peters, cousin John Peters and beloved nephew Darren Suderman. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dave the love of her life and husband of almost 48 years. In addition, her sons, Grant (Debra) and Wayne, grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacqueline (mom Kathy), David, Christian, Leah and unofficial sixth grandchild Indy will treasure Grandma Kate's memory for a lifetime. Mom's passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of her mother Agatha Klassen, brothers, John and Bert (Helen), sisters, Helen Peters, Hilda Fayle and Martha Friesen, mother-in-law Susan Suderman and in-laws, Mary Klippenstein, Linda Paul, Jim and Verla Suderman, Pete and Vera Suderman, Henry and Margaret Suderman, Jack and Irene Suderman. Mom also leaves to remember her life numerous nieces and nephews including her special niece Melanie and dear friends, Enrique and Isabel Pinzon. Mom was born October 24, 1936, and spent her early years in the Winkler, MB, area. She married Dad on an extremely cold February 8, 1958, and together they embarked on a life of love and adventure starting with their honeymoon trip to Chicago. Travel was important to Mom and she and Dad made a point of taking family camping trips every year. Mom shared a special affinity for children and you could just see the joy she felt when her grandchildren were born. Grandma Kate spent countless hours reading books to her grandchildren when she wasn't playing store or giving them rides across the rug in whatever cardboard box was handy. Unfortunately Mom's life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 1996. Thus began almost 10 years of seemingly continuous chemo and radiation therapy. Mom and Dad were very grateful for all the love and support provided by her extended family. In particular, the family would like to thank Auntie Vera for all the love and caring she provided our Mom. Uncle Pete and especially Auntie Vera spent thousands of hours over the last several years with Mom and Dad. The family is truly grateful for the compassionate medical care provided by Drs. Ian Maxwell and Roland Hayward. We know she would like us to thank Penny, Eleanor and Jackie in the chemo area, Bonnie and especially Anne for their gentle and caring ways. We would like to thank the medical and support staff of 3E at the Riverview Hospital and especially caregivers, Bonnie, Dorothy and Sean who did so much for Mom. In addition, Mom was truly blessed to have earthbound angel Helen there to provide comfort and care. Words cannot express our gratitude to all...May God bless you all. A celebration of Mom's life will be held Monday, January 16, 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 870 Carter (at the corner of Stafford and Carter), Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victoria Hospital Oncology Redevelopment Fund (for patient comfort), 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8, or Riverview Health Centre Foundation (Palliative Care Unit 3E), 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. ruhe sanft Rest gently Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden In care of arrangements, 822-4755 www.wiebefuneralhomes.com
