THOMAS MAXWELL MURRAY November 20, 1924 - January 13, 2006 On January 13, 2006, Tom passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife Erma, of 58 years; daughter Wendy (Bruce); son Bill; granddaughter Mandy (Berkley); grandson Cory; great-granddaughter Ava; sisters Doris (Wally), Ruth and brother Dale (Joyce) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was born in Morris, MB but grew up in Winnipeg. He joined the Navy in 1943 to 1945 serving in Halifax. Then worked for the CNR (Fort Rouge and Transcona) for 43 years. Tom loved to bowl, curl and work at carpentry, but his main concern was always the well being of his family. Just before his retirement Tom and Erma built a cottage at White Sands Estates, spending many happy hours puttering (term Tom used). Tom's loving and generous nature will not be forgotten. Tom was predeceased by his parents Ruby and Frank; sisters Barbara and Norma and brothers Royce and Dick. The family would like to thank the professional and compassionate staff at the Victoria General Hospital, Emergency and 5th floor, where Tom was able to find comfort during his final days. A memorial service and reception will be held on Wednesday, January 18 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
