Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYU SUN TSAI (nee SY) August 19, 1910 - January 14, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother,grandmother and great-grandmother. Yu Sun passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2006, at the age of 95 years, with family at her side at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Yu Sun was born in Jinjiang, China and lived through several difficult years during The Second World War. She immigrated to the Philippines with her family in 1948. In 1970, she came to Canada to join her children. She lived with her family in Winnipeg until February 2000 when she moved into Calvary Place. Yu Sun was predeceased by Chang Pin, her husband of 47 years, as well as sons Yan Sun of the Philippines and Yan Hsiong of Sydney, Australia. Left to cherish her memory are son, Dr. Yantay (Dr. Rozane Yung Sheng) of Canmore, AB; daughter-in-law Tina of Toronto, ON; son Yan Chuan (Myra) of Sydney, Australia; daughter, Mary (Pastor Albert Cheang) of Winnipeg; grand children Maureen (Michael Olsen) of Ottawa, ON; Denis (Leanne) of Winnipeg; Jane of Sydney, Australia; Joyce of Toronto, ON; Kenneth (Ann) of Montreal, QC; Grace (Kenn Koid) of Toronto, ON; Judith of Melbourne, Australia; Timothy (Jennifer) of Toronto, ON; Sarah (Phi Wan) of Toronto, ON; and great grand children, Abigail, Ashley and Allyson Koid, Matthew and Anastasia Olsen, Jessica and Jacob Tsai, and Sebastien Tsai. The family would like to thank the staff of Calvary Place Personal Care Home for the excellent and loving care that Yu Sun received during her stay there, as well as their support and kindness, especially during the last few weeks. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home on 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Winnipeg. Pastor Albert Cheang officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Yu Sun Tsai to Calvary Place Personal Care Home, Winnipeg Chinese Mennonite Church, Manitoba Academy of Chinese Studies.
