HELEN MELLORS (nee KUNIK) Helen passed away peacefully on January 12, 2006, at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 84 years. Helen is survived by her son Trevor (Joyce) of Beausejour, MB and her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer of Calgary, AB, and Jason of Beausejour; her sister Freda of Winnipeg; and nieces and nephews, Cathy of Winnipeg, Cindy of Alaska, Eleanor of Winnipeg and Arnold, Paul, Wayne and Leo of Winnipeg. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Harold Charlie ; sister Mary and brother Richard Dick . Helen was born January 25, 1921 in Winnipeg, however all of her younger years were spent on a farm near Sandy Lake, MB. She moved to Winnipeg during the war years following her sister Freda, where she met Charlie who was in Canada as part of the Commonwealth Pilot Training Program. They were married in December 1944. Helen, as was typical of the times, was a stay at home mom, and devoted her time to raising her son and only child, Trevor. Helen enjoyed dancing, the outdoors, and watching her grandchildren grow. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the 5th floor Unit 4 at Seven Oaks Hospital, and particularly the staff of Unit B2 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if friends and relations so desire, donations can be made in Helen's memory to a charity of their choice.
