Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD HALFYARD Peacefully on January 16, 2006 with family by his side, Don passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 77 years. Don was born in St. John's, NF on February 12, 1928, and at a young age his family moved to Port-Aux-Basque, NF. In 1945 at the age of 17, he went to Montreal and joined the Canadian Army. He had an honourable 28 year career serving in Canada, with Nato in Europe and with the United Nations peacekeeping forces in the Middle East. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, son Donald of Brandon, daughter Shannon (Ken) McRae, son Kelly (Joanne) of Winnipeg, daughter Regan of Vancouver and four grandchildren, Jason McRae, John, Meghan and James Halfyard. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother Gordon of Montreal and several nieces and nephews. Also the mother of his children Marion Fidler and daughter-in-law Myrna Halfyard whom the family wish to express their sincere heartfelt thanks for her loving care in his final days. Memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19 at the Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway, 783-7211
