GRACE CHAMBERLIN After a brief illness, Grace Chamberlin, beloved mother of Richard, and widow of Harold, passed away on January 13, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. Born in London, England in 1919, Grace came to Canada with her parents Alfred and Nora Phillips at the age of nine months and made her home here. Her brothers, Alf (Doreen) and George (Bea) as well as her sister Olive Morgan (Frank) were born in Canada and are left to cherish her memory along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Grace loved playing the piano and singing, taking great pride in her home and family, enjoying the cottage at Grand Beach, and spending many happy hours with family pet Daisy. She also looked forward to outings with her good friend and neighbour, Jack. Most of Grace's professional life was spent at The Bay where she worked in various departments, retiring from the credit office after more than 20 years of service. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Tache Centre for helping to make Mum's recent years comfortable and fulfilling, as well as the other residents on 3 ABC for their friendship and love. We would also like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital ER, 7th Floor, and Palliative Wing for their compassionate care. And we would like to extend a special thank you to friends and family, particularly Cec Rogers, John and Carol Morgan, Carol Caron, Lynda Graham, Barbara Scherba, and Michael Moszynski for their valued assistance and support. A remembrance for friends and family will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, on Thursday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, donations in Grace's memory could be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
