Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySELMA LILLIAN MENZIES (nee MILLER) 1914 - 2006 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Deer Lodge Hospice. Selma was predeceased by her husband John. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Walter, grandson John (Adrienne); her son Brian (Chris), granddaughter Tara (Scott), great-grandchildren Leigh, Derek and Caiden; as well as granddaughter Cherie (Andrew) and great-grandson Phoenix; sister Chris Cowan and family and a host of friends. Selma was born in Vista, MB, April 1, 1914. She married John Menzies December 28, 1932 and they spent several years in Holland, MB. After the war they lived in Gimli for 18 rewarding years. They also resided in Steinbach for five years and spent the next 28 years at Falcon Lake. After leaving Falcon Lake they moved to Winnipeg to live among friends at Gable Arms. Selma was a member of Selkirk Eastern Star, bowled with the Shrine ladies and was an active member in the United Church as well as a kindergarten teacher in Gimli. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m. Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Memorial contributions may be made in Selma's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
