Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS RAYMOND GRAY Suddenly, at Gimli Hospital on January 14, 2006, Douglas Raymond Gray passed away at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Violet; brothers, Earl and Jack; sister Violet Smith; brothers-in-law, Wally Partyka, Jack Smith, Jim Chepesuik, John Krimmer; and son-in-law Tom Norton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Olivia Dean; only child, dear daughter Jamie Norton of Tucson, AZ; sister Dell Partyka; sisters-in-law, Myra Gray, Cecile Gray, Mary Chepesuik, Bernice Krimmer; and many nieces and nephews. Doug was born in Winnipeg on April 8, 1920. He proudly served his country during the Second World War, joining the Army in 1942. He worked in his family business, United Transfer Ltd. until 1972. He enjoyed his weekly meetings with the New Horizon Club and Boyd Church. He volunteered many hours at Holy Family Nursing Home. He enjoyed trips with Olivia to Hawaii, England, Toronto, Wisconsin and Arizona. He had many friends and will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Doug's memory to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to convey their deepest thanks to the City of Winnipeg Police Department, The R.C.M.P. and the caring staff at Gimli Hospital.
