KATHLEEN MCCULLOCH September 19, 1915 - January 17, 2006 Peacefully, with family at her side, Kathleen died at the Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2006. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Ian, Kevin; daughter-in-law Diane; and her two grandsons, Geoffrey and Jonathan McCulloch. Kathleen was predeceased by her daughter Sheila in 1981; and by her beloved husband Henry (Mac) in 1993. She will also be sadly missed by her many family members in Scotland and England including her four surviving sisters and brothers, Nora Grehan, Maureen Rodzik, Gerald O'Mara (Ina), Brian O'Mara (Margaret); her sister-in-law Cathie O'Mara; as well as many nieces, nephews and their families including Mac's niece Sheila Dent (Arthur) and nephew Roy Weightman. Kathleen was born in Ireland and at an early age moved with her family to Scotland. She and Mac married in 1939. In 1948, they came to Canada, living firstly in Montreal, then in Edmonton and for the last 49 years of her life, in Winnipeg. Over the years, they were blessed with many wonderful friends whom our mother cherished to the end of her days. Kathleen was devoted to her family, doting especially on her two grandsons. She was a member of St. John Brebeuf Parish for over 40 years, where she was actively involved in many of the parish ministries. For over 30 years, Kathleen worked as a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Miscericordia Hospital, serving as President for a number of terms. One of her most rewarding projects was teaching conversational English to foreign-trained doctors studying for their Canadian certification exams. Prayers will be held at St. John Brebeuf Church on Friday, January 20, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl., in River Heights, on Saturday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
