Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(WILLIAM) IRVINE SOMERVILLE Irvine passed away at 95 years of age, January 16, 2006 with family at his side. He will be greatly missed by Mabel, Lynne (Cyril Keeper), Sandra, grandchildren David, Edward, and Elizabeth, brother Walter, cousin M.D. Gunn and many nieces and nephews. Born November 19, 1910, graduate of Wesley College and Normal School, he taught school 1933-39, then farmed 1939-74. He married Mabel Somerville of Webb, SK on November 14, 1945. A tremendous reader and innovator, he was among the first farmers in southwestern Manitoba to grow Victory flax, mustard and sunflowers; his homemade ice cream on waffles with fresh strawberries was a great treat for many friends. He loved to travel and kept up on current events. He donated his huge library to the Canadian Air Force in Moose Jaw who flew it to East Africa for library development. Special thanks for compassionate care from Lois Molison (his adopted daughter ), Marie Rouble, Katie Lin, Madelaine Delaurier, Pashuk Gjergji, Emery Lugzo, Judy and Andrew North, and the doctors and nurses who cared for Dad. A celebration of Irvine's life will be held at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg on January 24 at 2:00 p.m. (wheelchair accessible) 786-8998. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paradigm Shift, 352 - 331 Smith Street, Winnipeg, R3B 2G9 to support educational programs on Parkinsons Disease.

Hello Irvine, I was just searching for my mother-in-law and came across your picture. It sure is nice to see you again my friend and looking at your picture brings back a flood of fantastic memories. All those times we spent together I would never trade them in for anything.
