VITEZ IMRE NAPHEGYI It is with immense sadness, that we announce the passing of our father Imre Naphegyi, peacefully in his sleep on January 11, 2006, at the age of 93 and 3/4 years at Tuxedo Villa, He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ilona (nee Gulyas) in 1998; and son-in-law Botond (Orsolya). He is survived by his loving children, Bence (Ibolya), Orsolya, Aniko (Jim), Imre (Liz), Eva (Ken); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born on February 17, 1912, he was the only child of Imre and Ilona Naphegyi of Kolozsvar, Hungary, and left in 1944 during the Second World War. He was in a refugee camp in Germany for seven years before immigrating to Canada in December 1951. Our father was an artist, sculptor, writer/author and jack of all trades. He had a passion for writing stories on any piece of paper within his reach. His writing was rewarded by an honorary knighthood (Sir/Vitez). His sculptures and paintings are located in numerous countries. His artistry led to a career at Eatons in the display department until his retirement when he was 68 years. He was a loving man with a ready smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed! Thank you to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for the care you gave to Apu during his final years.
