GEORGE IAN LYDER June 17, 1941 - January 16, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his mother Mary in 1981 and his father Winston in 1989. George will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Marilyn of 44 years; son Stuart; daughter Nicole (Glenn) Firth; brother Albert (Rose-Marie); sisters, Barbara-Ann (Don) Lindsay, Betty Pereira, Carol (Eugene) Goossen; brother-in-law Jeff (Karen) Basanta; sister-in-law Christina (Benson) Pictlesimer; grandchildren, Tori and Shea-Lynn (Firth), Caitlin (Lyder) and numerous close relatives and friends. He was born in Trinidad, West Indies. Upon moving to Winnipeg with wife Marilyn, George was employed by Motor Coach Industries for 29 years until his retirement in 2001. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, if friends and relatives so desire, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba in George's memory.
