ANNIE MARTENS FROESE Annie Martens Froese, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, just before 12:00 noon in the Menno Home, in Grunthal. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Herman D. Froese on April 20, 2001; by one son-in-law Garnet Eliason in 1984; three grandsons, Joel Bruce Eliason in 1984, David Froese in 1986 and Dale Herman Froese in 1995. Annie was born in Grunthal, MB on March 2, 1921 to John S. and Katherina Martens. She had six brothers and five sisters. Mom is survived by three sisters, Nettie (Peter) Funk, Mary Doerksen (Frank), Lena Schellenberg (Ben) and two brothers, George (Lena) Martens and Ben (Mary) Martens, sister-in-law Kay Derksen, brother and sister-in-law Dave and Annie Froese and brother-in-law John Olfert. Annie's family looks forward to reuniting in heaven. She leaves to mourn with hope her children: Dave (Frieda), John (Marina), Ernest (Gwen), Anne (Ed), Herman (Inge), Irma, Vern (Hilda), Len (Alice), Ellie, Chris (Larry), Shirley (Peter), James (Marlene), Wes (Val), Ted (Mel), 65 grandchildren including spouses and 19 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at 7:00 pm with a devotional at 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 23 at 11 am at the Grunthal Mennonite Brethren Church with interment at the Grunthal Cemetery. We, as family, would like to express our sincere appreciation to all who attended in the care giving efforts for our mother over the many years.
