WANDA SNOBL (nee MADDER) Wanda Snobl died on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the Bagley, Minnesota Hospital after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service was held at Faith Lutheran Church on January 14 in Bagley. Wanda was born on January 16, 1948 at Winnipeg General Hospital, daughter of Eve and William Madder. She attended Cecil Rhodes, William Osler, J.B. Mitchell and Grant Park High Schools. In 1966 she started a physical education program at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. While growing up in Winnipeg Wanda attended Westworth Church. She was in the Junior Choir, Explorers, C.G.I.T., and Young Peoples Group. On October 4, 1969 she married John Snobl of Roy Lake, MN at Westworth United Church, Rev. Allan Simpson officiating, and returned to the United States to reside in Bagley, MN. She and John had four children, one daughter and three sons - who gave her eight grandchildren whom she loved very dearly. Wanda faithfully attended the school activities of her children, bowled, golfed, gardened, knitted, crocheted and beautifully maintained her home in the country. She will be sadly missed not only by her immediate family, but her parents and loving sister Dale and husband Ted Eisener.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My belated condolences to the Snobl family on the passing of Wanda. I attended UND for couple years and our paths crossed. I remember the Grand Forks to Winnipeg bicycle race one spring Saturday morning. Wanda was on one team and I was on another one. This was for bikes, single, three speed and some 10 speed bikes. Rider changed every couple of miles. In the race there was a fuel injected team. They had a 8 gallon keg of beer in the back seat of their vehicle and a tube running from it to the bike rider. One team was disqualified for jumping the freight train going to the border. This was a fun race, 150 miles. We left in the morning and arrived in the early afternoon. When I registered my nephew at Grant Park HS in Winnipeg, I looked at the walls of pictures of winning teams. There was a pic of the Varsity Girls Basketball team that won the city championship in which Wanda played a major role in 1966. Rest in Peace, God Bless - Posted by: colin dederick (school class mate) on: Nov 16, 2022
