EMILY OPALINSKI (nee PIZUN) Peacefully, after a short illness, Emily Opalinski passed away on January 21, 2006, at the age of 95, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. Emily is survived by daughter Josie Wasney, and grandchildren Melanie (Craig) Leonhardt, and Mark and Andrew Wasney. She was predeceased by her husband Adam; sister Stella; brothers, Anton and Joe, and son-in-law Paul Wasney. Emily was born on January 9, 1911 in Cook's Creek, MB. She was an exemplary homemaker and an avid gardener. These and other characteristics were developed in the pioneering family she was born into in the Cook's Creek area. Winter months were spent pursuing nursery catalogues and waiting for the warm, fertile soil of spring. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow mass in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Josie would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Joseph's Nursing Home for the many years of caring service for both her mom and dad. May you all be blessed abundantly! Mom You can only have one mother Loving, kind and true, No other friend in all the world Will be so true to you, For all her love and kindness She asked nothing in return, If all the world deserted us To our Mother we could turn. For those of you who have a Mother Treasure her with care, For you will never know her value Till you see she is not there. To hear her voice, to see her smile To sit and talk with her awhile, To be together in the same old way Would be my dearest wish today. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
