JORDIE (GEORGE) WIEBE It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of George Wiebe, January 22, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. George fought a courageous battle with cancer, but the Lord has now taken him home. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Judy; daughters, Tammy (Derek), Connie (Ward), and Bonnie; many grandchildren; a great-grandson; brothers Clanton (Annie), Art, and Lorne (Helen); sisters Alma (Peter), and Kate (Cornie); sister-in-law Mary; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to nephew John for his friendship. George was predeceased by his father John, mother Helen, brothers Jake and Harry, sister Helen, and son Douglas. George had been employed for Carter Day Industries as a lead-hand for 35 years. After retirement, he enjoyed immensely working part-time for U-haul. The family at this time would like to thank Grant for his kind consideration of our husband and father. He found solace in attending Winnipeg Group AA, where he embarked on trusting and compassionate friendships too numerous to mention. His humour was always appreciated and expected. While living in the co-op, he took great pride chasing rabbits with his dog Sase. His main objective was beautifying his home and garden. His tulips will be of tribute to his care and green thumb. The family would like to thank Health Sciences Centre Emergency and St. Boniface Palliative Ward for the loving and tender care to George. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2006 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home 220 Hespeler Ave. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
