He leaves to mourn his passing, his father William S. Watson of Toronto; his sister Mary-Jean Watson and her husband Herman Robinson of Toronto; his brother Scott of Winnipeg; niece Rheanna; and great-niece Kayla; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Sheila Mary Watson in August of 2004. Peter was born and raised in Montreal and came to Winnipeg in 1968 after his father's transfer here. He attended Robert H. Smith Elementary School, River Heights Junior High and St. Paul's High School. He received his B.A. from the University of Winnipeg, majoring in psychology. His work involved helping others. He was a foster parent, caregiver, and an aide to those in need. In the last few years, he worked at the Main Street Project and for Manitoba Family Services in Winnipeg and Selkirk. Peter's hobbies included art, poetry, writing, sports and antiques. He loved to go to garage sales and was overjoyed to find anything unique. Peter also had a great philosophical outlook and would often have many interesting conversations about life with family and friends. His sense of humour, compassion, understanding, objectivity and care for others will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him, including his dog, Arthur, who was very special to him. Peter's family would like to offer special thanks to the management and staff of Family Services in Selkirk, where he worked, who have shown love, support and compassion. Funeral services will be held at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Stafford Street at Corydon Avenue on Thursday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in Peter's memory to a charity of your choice.
