KEITH GERARD MILLER P. ENG. August 7, 1961 - January 24, 2006 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Keith, at home on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at the age of 44. A loving father and a gentle man, he will be so dearly missed by his wife Sandra and his daughters, Mallory and Jody. Keith will always be remembered by his father Frank; sister Kelly (Frazer Lyon); his brother Dave; parents-in-law, Nellie and Dan Lelieveld; brother-in-law Rob (LuAnn); sister-in-law June (Todd Miclash); and his nieces and nephews, Mike and Leslie Easton, Erik and Christopher Miller, Ainsley and Sarah Lelieveld and Leeanne, Trevor and Marlee Miclash. Keith was predeceased by his mother Roberta, in 2003. Keith moved to Winnipeg from Regina when he was two years old. He attended Crestview Elementary, Hedges Junior High and John Taylor Collegiate, where he graduated in 1979. In 1983, he graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Later, he worked at various engineering firms in Winnipeg including - IDE, Reid Crowther/Earth-tech, Wardrop and most recently Stantec. Intelligent and hardworking, Keith loved the engineering field and the fellowship of his many dedicated co-workers. In 1985, he married Sandra. Keith devoted his love and his life to Sandra and together they lived everyday sharing happiness and the warmth of each other's company. He never once took for granted the honour of being a dad. His biggest joy was to see Mallory and Jody smile. Keith adored them both and without question, he was their biggest fan. He never missed a curling match or a hockey game until his illness no longer allowed him to attend. Keith was so proud of his children, it warmed his heart to watch them grow. He loved spending time with his three girls; touring them around on the watercraft, taking them on trips to local lakes and cabins, swimming in the backyard pool at the family's home in Charleswood, ski vacations and other memorable family adventures. Keith was a man of devotion and integrity, whose measure of life was by the happiness of his family. With a cautious and yet wonderful sense of humour, Keith was a fun-loving friend. His considerate and calming influence made him a special friend to many. The camaraderie he shared with his Cougars hockey club friends both on and off the ice will be forever treasured; No. 8 will never be forgotten. Keith always enjoyed playing sports, especially Saturday night men's hockey and golf. And, he also enjoyed most every professional sport, especially NASCAR racing and NFL. The girls knew he owned the television remote on Sundays. Keith's passion for life, family and sports held true as he showed amazing courage and strength in his battle with liver disease and cancer. He requested that special thanks be given to Dr. Minuk for his sincere kindness, to Dr. Wong and Kathy, and all of the wonderful and caring people at the St. Boniface Hospital cancer care and palliative care departments. Heartfelt thanks goes out to our dear family, friends and co-workers who prayed for Keith and who gave our family support during such a difficult time. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave. with Rev. Fr. Richard Arsenault presiding. A private family interment will be held in the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Those wishing to commemorate Keith's life are asked to please make a donation in his memory to Dr. Minuk's liver research, Health Science Centre Foundation, Liver Research Fund, 301 - 820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1R9. In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost broken, as you fought so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping so peaceful and free of pain, we could not wish you back to suffer that again. So when we're sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong, we know we'll hear a whisper, cheer up and carry on. Each time we see your picture you seem to smile and say, don't cry I'm only sleeping we'll meet again some day. Keith's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
