Richard was born March 15, 1965 in Eriksdale, MB and holds the record for being the heaviest baby born in Eriksdale Hospital weighing over 13 lb. Richard enjoyed playing slots. When he wasn't working he would always play. Every time he won a little bit he would always yell out loud, Stay longer! Richard, we all wish you could've stayed a little longer. Richard was a very outgoing person and enjoyed a good joke. He was very quick to smile and laugh out loud. He gave meaning to the word laughter . Richard was a caring person, very protective towards his family, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Richard is survived by his brothers, Leon (Shirley), John (Barbie), Raymond, Gordon (Melanie), Edwin (Valerie), Steven (Cheryle) and their families; his sisters, Claudia (Orville), Linda Choken, Myna (Larry), Freda (Joe), Marlene (Arthur), Peggy, Susan (John), Linda (Franklin), Emma, Kimmy (Ron) and their families; also many nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention; three uncles, Berba, Adolphe Swan and Joe Edwards; two aunts, Maggie Dunn and Isabelle Swan. He also leaves to mourn his special friend Lucy Anderson of Fairford, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and William Choken and Edwin Edwards Sr.; his brothers, Terrance, Eddy, Donald, Jubble, Kenneth and Steve Choken, Charles R. Edwards (Randy); and one sister Lillian Wood. Wake services will be held on Thursday, January 26 and Friday, January 27 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at his residence on Lake Manitoba First Nation. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lake Manitoba School Gymnasium with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery.
