MURRAY PATRICK CAMPBELL Peacefully on January 22, 2006 at Deer Lodge Centre, Murray Campbell, passed away at the age of 84 years. Murray is survived by his son Jimmy Campbell; sister Lorna Hill; brother Ronnie (Betty); numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Glen, Doug, Ralph and Jean. Murray was born in Portage la Prairie on November 23, 1921. He served overseas during the Second World War with the Army Service Corps. After leaving the military, he began working for the City of Winnipeg in the Water and Waste Department, retiring in 1982 after 35 years of service. Murray was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 141 (Ukrainian Veterans Branch) where he enjoyed the three B's - Bingo, Blue and baseball. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for treating him very well. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 27 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3J 0L3. When I am gone, release me, let me go .... I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear All my love around you soft and clear.
