JOCELYN HILL Jocelyn died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on January 25, 2006. Jocelyn was born in Brandon on February 26, 1954, the youngest child of Walter and Helen Hill. She was loved beyond measure by her parents, her grandmother, her brothers Mike and Peter and his wife Jan, her sisters Pat and Susan, her nieces Lindsay and Arynn, and her nephews Dan and Joel and his wife Jolene. Jocelyn was predeceased by her mother Helen in 1981 and her grandmother Mary Eccles in 1993. She brought love, joy and laughter to her extended family and friends, and enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. We were blessed by her presence in our lives and will always be grateful for the gifts she gave us over the years. Jocelyn was an active member of the Salvation Army Church and a member of the Home League. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed volunteering at the Y , and loved swimming, figure skating, riding horses and playing golf. She was a gold medallist in swimming and golf at the Special Olympics in Milwaukee. Jocelyn travelled extensively with her family throughout Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Alaska, the United States and Canada from coast to coast. Good people die, but death cannot erase their memory. Jocelyn's life will be honoured in a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29 at the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Ave. East in Brandon. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers or donations, please send a bouquet of red flowers to someone you love.

  • A Salvation Army tuba player at Walmart today made me think of the wonderful Hill family I used to know in Brandon. This is very late, but I am sorry to hear of Jocelyn's passing in 2006. Pat, please contact me in Winnipeg. My husband's name is Guy. - Posted by: Wilma (Slator) MacMillan (high school friend of sister Pat) on: Dec 11, 2013
