MARIE COMTE (nee CENERINI) March 20, 1914 - January 26, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marie is also survived by her brother, Alfred Cenerini (Cecile), her sister, Adele Lusignan, sisters-in-law Cecile Cenerini, Elise Comte, Cecile Comte, Agnes Comte, Solange Gaultier, Angele Brundige and Lucie Boisvert; brothers-in-law Louis Comte, Albert Comte (Celine), Raymond Comte and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her first husband Albert Lafreniere in 1954 and by her second husband Joseph V. Comte in 1974. Mom was postmistress and storekeeper in Cardinal, MB, for 30 years. She was treasurer of the Club d'Age d'Or for many years. An excellent seamstress and cook, she also enjoyed card playing, gardening, and curling. Mom's first interest was always her family and friends. She will be remembered and respected for her generosity, kindness, commitment, love and devotion. The family would like to thank the health care workers of the Foyer Notre Dame and the Notre Dame Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thanks to the relatives and friends for their bedside vigil during her passing. Those acts of kindness were well appreciated. Recitation of the rosary, with a video tribute, will be held in the Notre Dame Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 28, with Mass at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment in the parish cemetery. Fr. Alphonse Bongo will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foyer Notre Dame in memory of mom. Rest in peace, Mom Repose en paix, memere.
