HARRY FOX It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father Harry Fox. Harry leaves his wife of 52 years, Martha who visited him faithfully every day; children Lynn Cavanagh, Robert, Katherine and Patricia (Al); brother Arthur (Ruth); sister Ruth; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Marie; son-in-law Brian Cavanagh. Harry was born in Poland, August 18, 1922 and came to Canada along with his parents in 1928. He began farming with his father in Brunkild in 1942 and for a short time during the winters he also worked in Winnipeg at various jobs. Eventually, he took over the family farm and farmed full time. Harry loved farming and was outstanding in his field. Harry took an active part in the community with church council and the recreation centre, and held positions as a Boy Scout leader and school board trustee. He also worked part-time for Manitoba Crop Insurance and continued to work there when he and Martha retired to Winnipeg in 1984. In November of 1995, Harry suffered a stroke and in July 2005 he moved to Lions Personal Care Centre, where he resided until his passing. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Many thanks to the staff on the second floor of Lions Personal Care Centre for the kindness and care he received during his stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba, Unit B - 247 Provencher Blvd, Winnipeg, MB R2H 0G6. • I’m just reading this obituary as I look into my family history. My father, Otto Dallman, came from Poland to Canada on the same boat as Harry in 1928. My dad and Harry knew each other in Poland and kept in touch once in Canada. I moved to Winnipeg in 1978 and visited Harry and Martha a few times. My dad died in 2003. If you would like to get in touch with me about the connections in Poland you can email me at bkiddell@shaw.ca - Posted by: Betty Anne Kiddell (nee Dallman) (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2020
