NICHOLAS SWERDYLIAK (NICK) It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Nick Swerdyliak, aged 82 years, on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Meadowood Manor. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Cassandra; his brothers, Alex, Metro, George and Steve; sister Dora (Bill) Burick; brother-in-law Ed Mysko. He will be lovingly remembered by Anne Mysko; sisters-in-law, Winnie, Agnes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nick was born in Sundown, MB, August 22, 1923. As he grew up he went to work with his brother. Then decided green houses would be easier as he loved flowers. He also seeded vegetables which he transplanted in the field and watched them grow. Come Fall time he went to sell his vegetables at the Farmer's Market on Main Street. He retired in the 1970s. A celebration of Nick's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., January 31, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. with Rev. Fr. Rene Peeters officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens in the family plot. Pallbearers will be: Louis Oulette, Daryl Klassen, Donald Schewaga, Vincent, John and Kenneth Swerdyliak. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff of Meadowood Manor for their tender loving care.
