MARY SMALL The family of Mary Small sadly announces her peaceful passing in the early morning of January 29, 2006 at the Grace General Hospital after a courageous battle with heart and lung disease. Prior to Mary's passing she resided at ArlingtonHaus. Mary will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sandra (Donald) Stelling and Karen (Gary) Sawchuk, her daughter-in-law Lucille Small and her precious niece Janice Simcoe. Mary will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Emily Ptashnik. Her parents, Michael and Constance Ptashnik, her brother Edward and sister Cecilia (Marcel) predeceased her. Her greatest sadness was the loss of her two beloved Stanleys - her husband in 1963 and her son in 2000. After her husband's passing, Mom worked for many years at Revenue Canada where she also made many friends. During her 86 years, Mom touched many people with her bubbly personality, lovely smile and strength of character. She has left her family a legacy of love and courage. She especially enjoyed the friends she made at the Tuesday Day Program at Fred Douglas Lodge, especially Eleanor. Cremation has taken place. At Mary's request, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place in the spring. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon celebration of Mary's life at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Tuesday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations may be made to D'Arcy's ARC Animal Rescue Centre, 1793 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0E8 or to a charity of your choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
