MARGARET FLORENCE YORK It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret York announces her death on January 29, 2006. Her memory will be cherished by her son Jim; daughter-in-law Linda; grandchildren, Karin and Neal (MaeJean); and her great-grandchildren, David, Alex, and Emily. She is also survived by sisters, Shirley Russell (Fred) and Jean Holley of Sydney, Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husband, Don in 2005. Margaret was born in 1917, in Sydney, NS to James and Nora Holley. She met and married her husband Donald, while he was serving in the Royal Canadian Navy in Sydney in 1942. Following postings in Sydney and Halifax, Mom and Dad moved to Thunder Bay, ON and then to Winnipeg. Mom had a wide circle of friends. She loved to play bridge and go to Polo every week. Following an extended illness, Margaret moved to Beausejour, MB to be closer to her family. Here she started another circle of friends. Margaret was actively involved with, and proud of her family. She loved Karin and Neal dearly and was thrilled with her two boys. Sadly, she never got to hold Emily but she was thrilled to have a great-granddaughter. Although her family will miss her dearly, they take comfort in knowing that a part of her will always be with them and she has been reunited with the love of her life. Cremation has taken place by request and no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brokenhead River Community Foundation, Box 2225, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
