Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN (DORY) JONES Doreen (Dory) Jones (nee Oakes) passed away unexpectedly in Mexico on January 27, 2006. Lovingly remembered by her husband Bill; son Sven Leppik of Winnipeg; daughters, Joy Jones of England, and Jade Jones of Toronto; and all her grandchildren, Benjamin, Brianna, Brandon Schofield, Jessica, Deanna and Matti Leppik, Magnus and Leon Bonner and Merryn Kerr; two brothers, Donald and Alan Oakes of Ladysmith, BC; predeceased by her sister Kathleen Cheney (nee Oakes). Dory will be missed dearly by all her friends and loved ones here and all over the world. Celebration of her life will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sven Leppik, 38 Valley View Drive, Winnipeg, MB on Sunday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. A Fiesta is to be held in her honour in Mexico on February 12. A further memorial service to be held at a later date.

'Tis better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all.' For us, this is more true than ever. We grieve the loss of a mother and a grandmother, but take solace that we knew her at all. Our reunion with her was richly rewarding for all of us. Baba had a spirit, a joie de vivre, that could not be suppressed. She encouraged and applauded individualism, regardless of how far off the beaten path it took us.
