KATERINA HOLOWATY Peacefully, on January 29, 2006 at the Concordia Hospital, our beloved mother and grandmother, Katerina Holowaty passed away with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Dmytro and her devoted daughter Stephania (Peter) Lapka; grandchildren, Bohdan Lapka, Michael Lapka, Lily MacWilliams; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Robert and Rebecca MacWilliams; her brother Henry Hordy in Brazil; and sister Mary Mrichko in the Ukraine. Katerina was predeceased by her parents, Stephan and Maria Hordy and by a sister Anna. Katerina was born March 3, 1920 in Nove Selo, Ryon Lubatchiv, Oblast Lviv (Ukraine). She came to Winnipeg in 1967 to join her husband and together they made their home in Transcona where they have since resided. Katerina was a loving wife and mother who will be sadly missed. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street with Funeral Rites to follow on Thursday, February 2 at 9:30 a.m., also at the church. Father Bill Wasyliw presiding. Burial at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bohdan and Michael Lapka, Morris, Jonathon, Jimmy and Tommy Lockhart. Vichnaya Pam'Yat Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
