DOUGLAS JAMES LANE ROY Suddenly on Sunday, January 29, 2006, Douglas Roy, at the age of 70 years. Douglas will be sadly missed by his wife Polly Anne; sons, Kenneth (Tracey) and Kevin; grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, and Justin; sister Mildred (Walter) Wall; brother Lawrence (Violet); mother-in-law Annie Lefteruk; and in-laws, Don (Rose), Boris (Pollyanna), Lloyd (Pauline) and Caroline (Percy) and many nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his father Sigurdur Onizino Roy (1990) and mother Vera Kendall Lane Roy (1987). Douglas apprenticed at Buffie Motors where he worked for many years until he was disabled by chemical reactions. He volunteered since 1992 at the Selkirk Food Bank. Douglas was very passionate about his grandchildren, his many hobbies, beadwork, leathercraft, the great outdoors and just making friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Rev. Peter Cain officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Selkirk Food Bank. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
