JEAN AGNES CLARK (HORTON) April 19, 1913 - January 27, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Jean Clark, who passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with her daughter at her side. Jean's courage and determination while she battled her illnesses were an inspiration to her family and caregivers, especially during the last few months. Memories of Jean will be cherished forever by her daughter Maureen (George) Kennedy, her grandson Brent (Michelle) Horton with great-grandsons Syd and Max, her granddaughters Brenda Horton, Colleen Kennedy, Lisa (Dell) Burnett, and Kathryn Kennedy, by Cliff (Linda) Clark and Kristen of Detroit, by extended family and friends whom she treasured, and by her best four-legged friend Misty. She was predeceased by her son Brian Horton and her beloved husband Doug Clark. Mom's tenacious spirit had an impact on everyone who knew her. No matter what the event or circumstances, her enthusiasm and love for life were always present. During her life she was involved in sports, especially golf, ten-pin bowling, and lawn bowling. Mom got great pleasure from these activities in the last number of years while she was associated with the Thistle Seniors. More than anything though, Mom's happiest times were family gatherings where she was such a key part of our circle of love. She was truly a gift in our lives. The entire family offers our sincere thanks to the staff on 5B Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital for their dedicated care. A very heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Charles Olweny and Bonnie who gave much more than care - who gave Mom their love. And thank you to her roommates, Florence and Wayne, who are two very special people. A gathering to celebrate Mom's life will take place on Sunday, February 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A reception will follow. If friends desire, donations can be made in Jean's memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
