Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK FRANCIS SEARS 1915 - 2006 Died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility, Nanaimo. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Billie) in 1997. He is survived by his three sons, Robert, Peter (Christine) and Terry (Brenda) and grandchildren, Michael and Thomas. Jack was involved in the aeronautical manufacturing industry for most of his career. He retired several times from Bristol Aerospace in Winnipeg lastly in 1987. He fondly remembered his years at Bristol and the wonderful friendships developed there. His started his career as a protege of Robert Noorduyn, designer of the famous Canadian bush plane, the Noorduyn Norseman, at the Noorduyn plant in Montreal. He completed his career having been involved in many space age and nuclear projects. His numerous interests (hobbies) included sailing, photography, skiing, fishing, curling, stamp collecting and genealogy. He is fondly remembered by his many friends as being always cheerful and helpful in every possible way. Special thanks to Dr. Gerard Vaughan, the staff at NRGH and Dufferin Place who cared for him so warmly in his final days. A memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services Chapel, 1720 Bowen Rd., Nanaimo on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at First Memorial. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
